• Birth*: Margaret Logan was born on 1 December 1785 at Kilbirnie Parish, Ayr, Scotland, , Parish record entry reads - laul (lawful) daughter to George Allan in Mains and Margaret Fife. There is no recorded marriage of a George Allan and Margaret Fife in the Parish registers at this time and as Margaret was the Mother in Law to the author of the "Logans of Kilbirnie" William Logan and was alive at the time he wrote it, I have assumed that his information is correct and that the Parish records are incorrect.^1,2

• Marriage*: She married John Law, son of John Law and Janet Fife, on 16 January 1809 at Kilbirnie Parish, Ayr, Scotland, . Parish Records entry reads - John Law servant in Mains and Margaret Fife there. Again I have taken the information in the "Logans of Kilbirnie " to be correct over the Parish Records as there is no marriage of a John Law and a Margaret Logan around that time in the Parish Records. Margaret Fife was Margaret Logan's mother's maiden name and this could accounct for an incorrect entry.^1,4,3
