  • Memo*: John was a dutch banker and he and his family worked for many years in Japan. During WW2 the family were captured by the Japanese. Because they spoke fluent Japanese they were distrusted and all sent to prison camp, Queenie and the children to Changi Gaol in Singapore and John to work on the infamous Burma Railway where he ultimately died.
