• Death*: Edwin William John Fitzpatrick died in 1905 at India In his autobiography, Aurthur Fitzpatick says "My grandfather's death at the age of 43 years has been variuosly described, by word of mouth, and I cannot say which explination is true. The first report I learned of says that he removed a corn from his foot with a razor. The foot became infected and he died, after a short, but unpleasant , illness by this ill thought-out act. I take this story with a 'pinch of salt', because, it is most unlikely that a trained Veterinary Surgeon, would be so stupid as to do that. The second story is much more likely to be true. He was supposed to have been out riding one day when he was thrown by his horse. As he fell, his head struck a tree stump. He is said to have lasted some months before passing away."⁴
